At H T Perry & Son & Granddaughter we have been serving the people of Wellington for over 60 years. Our traditional family business was founded by Howard Perry in 1960. At first, it was a paint and wallpaper shop. Howard was a painter and decorator himself and the shop was managed by his wife Betty. Neither of them had any background in retailing but the business soon became popular, partly because they were both on hand to offer the benefit of their experience.

In 1972 H T Perry’s became H T Perry & Son when Howard’s son Mike joined the business. This was when we started to introduce more hardware lines into the range. The business went from strength to strength with Mike’s help.

In 2008 Mike’s daughter Fern joined the business and we became H T Perry & Son & Granddaughter. Our thriving business is now run solely by Fern. We are well known in the community and are one of the only traditional hardware shops in the area. We support local projects and get involved with local traders where we can and sell their products. We also sell bigger brands at competitive prices.
Here at H T Perry & Son & Granddaughter we believe that family is at the heart of our business and so we treat our staff and customers in this way. We offer a competitive delivery service to many areas and a postage system, and we have posted as far as Canada! Our staff can offer advice from their real-world experiences with our products, and they have the knowledge to help with small repairs on some items while you wait.
